When Laurel Hill Cemetery first opened in 1836, Philadelphia’s citizens were eager to secure a place of eternal rest within its setting of unrivaled peace, beauty and splendor. As a National Historic Landmark and unique cultural resource, the Cemetery maintains its identity as a valued resting place.

Today, Laurel Hill has immediately available burial space, although it is limited due to the age of the Cemetery. Laurel Hill has single graves and family lots available for sale. Prices start at $2,500.00 and increase depending upon the desired location of the property. Burial costs are available upon request.

Interments are provided seven days a week, with increased rates for weekend burials. Visitation to the gravesites of family and loved ones is welcome during Laurel Hill’s normal hours of operation:

Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm
Saturday-Sunday 9:30am-4:30pm

Additional Services

In addition to burial services, you can also purchase your family’s monument(s) and gravestone inscriptions through Laurel Hill Cemetery.

Trust funds may be established through the Cemetery for the care of your family’s headstones and to ensure ongoing maintenance and repairs in the absence of family members. At your request, we can also set up a permanent endowment fund for flowers to be delivered to the resting place of your loved one on a weekly or monthly basis, or on specified holidays throughout the year.

If you or a family member visits the gravesite of a loved one to discover that the lot is in need of maintenance or renovation, the Cemetery would be glad to provide you with a detailed estimate for the repair of any headstones on the lot.
